I love reading about my culture and finding new and exciting ways to mix up a recipe.
What I’ve noticed is, there is no such thing as a “Traditional Jamaican or Traditional Caribbean Cuisine”. You can use the same ingredients but the food can trun out different every time. It depends on the cook and thier experience.
For example, the word “stew” can be used inturnchangagly with “smother ” , stew chicken or smother chicken. Both recipes use simular ingredients with different out look.
That’s way I turn to cookbooks and my family tradition to help me get a better understanding of how I can make the best authentic Jamaican cusine.
Below are some of the books I found to be very helpful.
